The boat and bench have been worked on. The boat has been stripped of paint, sanded, and re-painted. The aft gun mount was in bad shape and hopefully can be rebuilt and re-mounted. I am collecting donations to give to the UDT/SEAL Museum as a Thank You for doing this work for us. We are also going to need a new canvas for the canopy.
If you have any questions: call me at 772 349 5464.

This bench is in remembrance of our 13 KIA's to replace the Monument buit in Vietnam.
It is a great honor to be allowed to add this to the LCPL, which we have had and maintained for the past 15 years.
We give great thanks to the Navy EOD-UDT Seal Museum for honoring our fallen Comrades who gave their all so others could be free. If you would like to have a brick with your name, rank, etc placed here, pleaase look up the seal web site: www.navysealmuseum.com, print out the form for the bricks (each box counts as letters). Send to the Museum. It tales about 3 months to have it placed. Put on your check or form (Shark Boat) IUWG-1. I will send you a photo when it is installed. Email me at bigslimjim@gmail.com, when you order the brick. Bricks cost $100.00 each. The money goes to the Seal Museum for ground maintenance, etc. We do not get any of this money.
You can still send donations to me at: 3080 S W Shadow Ln, Palm City, FL 34990. If comments write memorial IUWG1, or use paypal. Thank you, in brotherhood,
Jim Meehan Pres./caretaker

From Big Jim:
Brothers,
Looking for donations to have a reflection bench made to be placed across from the Memorial Boat.
It will have the IUWG-1 Logo on it with the 13 KIA names inscribed on it. It will be maintenance free, made out of cement or marble.
If you know someone who does this type of work and would like to donate the bench, please have them call me. Or if someone wants to donate the bench, please call me. We will pay for the shipping. This has been approved by the Museum.
My phone number is: 772-349-5464. Or make checks out to me with a memo Memorial Bench.
This will be a welcome addition to our Memorial.
As of this date, the boat has been completely repainted and the rust removed. New flag and new solar lights will be installed to show off the boat teeth. Watch the web site for examples of benches.
In brotherhood, Jim Meehan Pres.

Patrol Boat At the Seal MuseumUpdated 25 July 2017The boat is finished. Thanks to all who donated. However, the boat still needs up keep. This costs money. Anyone who wishes to make donations for the maintence of the patrol boat at the museum, feel free to do so. It is much appreciated.---------------------------------------------Ship Mates, and Sponsors of IUWG-1As Most of you know We have a Memorial Patrol boat at the UDT-Seal Museum in FT.Pierce Fl. for the 13 men who gave their all (KIA) while serving in IUWG-1.It is now time to to totally rebuild the boat so it will go without maintenance, except for touch ups for the next ten years. We adopt the boat every year ,and agree to maintain it to the highest standards possible.i have talked to the museum people and they have given us the permission to have it, Sand blasted, re-fiber glassed, and re-painted to look like new.The boat now has a lot of work to be done if it is to last .For 10 years we have been painting the boat and it looks like it is held together with the paint. BU, We just picked the boat with a crane and moved to a new location on the grounds. It held up fine.I am collecting money to have an outside contractor to do the job. We are in the process of getting bids on the job .I am asking all members to donate at least 20.00 dollars or more if you can to the fund to do this job.We are all getting older every day. Our minds tell we can do it ourselves, BUT our bodies say No WayThis a major job.
